Calcium Oxide or Quick Lime is a widely used versatile chemical compound, made from the excellent deposits of high calcium Lime Stone. Pure Lime Stone extracted from quarries as a raw material (calcium carbonate), is burnt in a kiln at approximately 800 – 850 degrees Celsius to create calcium oxide.  This is then crushed into chippings ready to be slaked. Kaolin, or China clay, is the mineral kaolinite, a hydrous aluminum silicate formed by the decomposition of minerals such as feldspar. China Clay appears as odorless white to yellowish or grayish powder. Bentonite is an absorbent swelling clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite. Bentonite usually forms from weathering of volcanic ash, most often in the presence of water. It’s sodium based. It has a strong earthy odor and consists essentially of Hydrous Alumina Silicate with various impurities.
