Standard Filter Corporation (SFC)

Established in 1973, Standard Filter is the most automated filter bag manufacturer in the world. The visionary and founder of Standard Filter was Einar Wiik. Einar came over from his native Norway in the 1950’s. As a tool and die maker and then as a machine fabricator, Einar built a reputation for ingenuity in designing and fabricating filter production process equipment. In the early 1970’s he founded Standard Filter, in a small building near downtown Los Angeles. It was here that his creativity flourished. Soon the building was too small and the plant was moved to the first of what would be three buildings in the Atwater area of Los Angeles. In 1991 a new 30,000 sq. ft. facility was acquired in Carlsbad, CA, where Standard Filter resides today. The facility now houses arguably the most automated filter bag production operation in the world.
