Rotary Valves or Rotary Airlocks are regulate the flow of material from one chamber to another while maintaining a good airlock condition.  Common uses include at the discharge of dust collectors, storage bins and pneumatic conveying applications. Sunco Rotary Airlocks can accommodate pressure differentials up to 20 psi and tepmeratures to 750º F (utilizing special high temperature bearings).  We have made special valves to handle pressures to 350 psi and temperatures to 2200º F.

The Sunco Dust Collector Valve is a low-cost solution designed for light duty dust collector applications. This valve offers a tremendous cost savings over our heavy duty series. To keep costs low, the Dust Collector Valve is only available in the configurations listed below. It is also designed for maximum temperatures of 150° F and pressure differentials of 4 psi or less.

The Sunco Blow-Through Rotary Valve is an extension of our Drop-Through Rotary Valve and is designed for use in the Pneumatic Conveying Industry. The unique design of the Blow-Through Rotary Valve allows you to introduce high pressure conveying air through the valve body and rotor pockets, which ensures a high efficiency throughput with a low effective pressure drop. This is achieved by more blades being in contact with the valve body for longer periods of time, resulting in less air leakage. It also ensures the each rotor pocket is efficiently emptied.

The Sunco Offset Rotary Valve is designed to handle certain types of materials that would otherwise suffer damage when handled with a typical rotary valve. Materials such as plastic pellets, nylon, polyethylene and others can break apart and the resulting “stringers” can cause a standard rotary valve to jam. This can cause material loss as well as significant downtime and increased maintenance requirements. To address these problems, Sunco offers our Offset Rotary Valve. The unique design of the Offset Rotary Valve allows the material to be fed into the rotor during its upward cycle. In addition, a special beak above the rotor distributes the material across the entire width of the rotor. The result is a consistent feed without harm to your material or equipment.

The Sunco Rectangular Rotary Valve Series is designed for unique applications where a special inlet and discharge is needed,   instead of the industry standard round and square flanges, the Sunco Rectangular Series offers over 25 unique inlet/discharge sizes.

The Sunco Gravity Diverter is used to reroute material from one load point to two (2-Way Diverter) or three (3-Way Diverter) other directions. It is designed for use on applications where little or no pressure or vacuum is present. The standard divert angles are 0° x 30° or 30° x 30° (2-Way) and 30° x 0° x 30° (3-Way). However special divert angles are available to accommodate any application. Also since this is a fabricated valve, we can shorten the overall height to a lower profile when stack up height is an issue.

The Sunco Conveying Diverter is commonly used on pneumatic conveying applications to reroute material from one load point to two discharge points. The standard divert angle is 0° x 22.5. However additional divert angles, such as 0° x 30°, can be supplied upon request. The Conveying Diverter Valve consists of a robust body manufactured in two sections, split at the center flange for ease of access to the internal sealing flap. The internal surfaces are machined to provide a smooth surface, allowing for no lodgement points. With the special cone transition at the inlet, an efficient internal seal is maintained, thus increasing the conveying line pressure. Suitable for pressures up to 20 PSI.

The Sunco Plug Diverter Valve is used on applications where a typical flap diverter valve cannot be used due to high pressures and/or abrasive materials. The Plug Diverter is ideal for high vacuum conveying systems or applications were leakage cannot be tolerated. The Plug Diverter consists of a robust cast body which houses a cast plug between a pair of end covers. The material being handled passes from one line through a tunnel within the plug to either of the two outlet lines. The material stream is diverted to the selected outlet by rotating the plug through 150⁰. Rotation is alternately clockwise and counter-clockwise and is achieve by means of a double-acting torque actuator. To prevent cross contamination of product air to the chamber or dominant leg, sealing is achieved by means of a PTFE spring-loaded gland arrangement, which is adjustable and replaceable.

A Double Dump Valve, also called a Double Tipping Valve, is commonly used in pneumatic applications where a Rotary Airlock is not suitable due to the potential for leakage. Double dumps are also typically used on fibrous, oversized or very abrasive products where a rotary airlock would suffer intolerable wear.

Sunco Knife Gate Valves are available in wide range of constructions and sizes. Our most common Knife Gate has a solid one-piece cast body, with integrally cast gate jams and guides. They are full port and designed with blow out proof packing glands and nylock locking nuts. We have over 1,000 Knife Gate Valves in stock with multiple models to choose from. Available types of actuation include hand-wheels, gears, chain wheels, as well as air cylinders. Our valves are stocked in 304 SS, 316 SS, 317 SS, WCB Steel, and Ductile Iron. We stock sizes from 2" to 48". Our valves are designed and tested to Tappi TIS 405-8 and MSS-SP81 standards. Our full lug pattern flanges conform to ASME B16.5.
