R-SULF BIOGAS SCRUBBERS

For the utilization of Biogas it is essential to remove its toxic elements viz. H2S, Ammonia etc. Biogas Scrubbers are used for removal of these constituents.

Absorption is basic chemical engineering operation and is most preferred and well established gas pollution control technique.

Biogas scrubber based on chemical Treatment (NaOH, KOH etc.) is very popular and well proven method of scrubbing of biogas. Their advantages are unparalleled as compared to other scrubbing methods.

The Biogas is first washed in Venturi to remove the suspended particles/foam etc, further it goes to packed tower for Chemical Treatment. The Scrubber is so designed that the spent Lye is used to the maximum possible extent resulting in very low caustic consumption and estimated saving of 25-50% can be achieved depending upon Biogas Composition and H2S levels.

CRA has developed the scrubbing process so that there is minimum consumption of chemical for Scrubbing by utilizing the spent chemicals.
