Where We Came From

Texcel’s expertise in this market has been developed through our 30+ years’ experience in the design and manufacture of vibration monitoring instrumentation.

Texcel was born out of innovation. We started operations in 1988 under the name Blastronics, where we were the first business to commercialise out of the University of Queensland, creating the BMX, the world’s first diagnostic blast monitor.

Texcel is a distillation of the expertise garnered from its forebears, including Blastronics and Infratech. The innovative “institution” created as a consequence of these businesses has fostered the careers of, and contributed numerous world class experts to, both the mining and infrastructure industries.

While our origins were in the blasting industry, over time Texcel moved into the wider market of vibration monitoring in the mining, quarrying, construction and infrastructure industries. In 2000, we changed our name from Blastronics to Texcel to reflect this evolution.

The Here & Now

Today, while retaining our original development and manufacturing capabilities, Texcel has become predominantly a provider of managed environmental compliance services. These services cover not only vibration monitoring, but also other parameters such as noise, dust and weather monitoring. Our pride in the technical excellence, quality and consistency of our vibration monitoring equipment extends to the trusted equipment suppliers we use for the other environmental parameters we service.
