The German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) services

DWA supports the research coordination in the fields of water and waste management. Identifying research needs DWA represents the interests of the practice. It accompanies research projects and supports its implementation. It has recently establisehd the new staff unit research and innovation.

The DWA Industry Guide Watermanagement, Wastewater-Waste appears once a year and is a unique source of data for services and products in the water management, wastewater and waste sectors. The current address book contains information on manufacturers and service providers in the above-mentioned sectors of the DWA and has just been issued as a printed version.

The Technical Safety Management (TSM) is a self-control instrument for the management of water and wastewater companies regarding the terms of technical qualification and organisation such as operation and maintenance and OHS. A catalogue of technical inquiries based on the technical rules and standards is the basis for the self-evaluation of the management. With the successful completion of a TSM examination a company ensures that all legal and technical requirements are met. TSM helps to avoid the violation of organisational obligations. Deficits in view of technique, organisation and personnel may be uncovered, reviewed and removed and the company`s performance will increase.

The DWA library is unique in its field. As a specialised library with an individual range of services, it offers an extensive pool of knowledge for specialised staff, executive personnel and  junior staff in water management. Since 1985 the DWA library has been collecting specialist books and articles on all relevant water management related topics, furthermore, it contains over 3,000 older publications.
