With due concern to the quality of the design and management criteria for water resources projects, COYNE ET BELLIER has helped fund and carry out some of the work of the World Commission on Dams (WCD). In general terms, environmental assessments (EAs) and resettlement plans are aimed at ensuring that the profitability of a project is not built on degradation of the natural environment or the living conditions of the local population.

The skills Coyne et Bellier makes available to its clients cover a full range of transport infrastructure studies: surface earthworks, cuttings, and consolidation work, tunnels in hard rock and soft ground, including operation and safety equipment, bridges and viaducts, culverts, drainage, stations and associated buildings, underground stations, cut-and-cover and bored tunnels in urban settings. Coyne et Bellier has been—and is still—involved in the construction of a great many infrastructure projects, including more than 200 kilometres of tunnels.

For the design of nuclear structures, the SIN unit (Industrial and Nuclear Civil Engineering) offers clients a broad range of skills in the required services: Feasibility studies, design studies, working drawings for reinforced or prestressed concrete structures, predictive analysis of structural behaviour in emergency situations (strength, leaktightness, etc.).

Coyne et Bellier has performed a large number of missions to assist in the restoration of inland waterways (including framework agreements with Voies Navigables de France). We also put our skill and knowhow at the service of clients for the design and construction of suitable flood-defence works. Notable examples are the studies carried out after flooding by rivers in the Cévennes range of southern France (Cèze, Gardon, Vidourle) and in the Loire Valley region.
