Trelleborg Forsheda Pipe Seals products

The Forsheda 582 Din-Lock™ seal is a combined lip and compression sealing system that is positioned in the socket by the pipe manufacturer after the bell has been formed. The unique design has a flexible thermoplastic elastomer sealing element bonded to a polypropylene retaining ring which holds the seal firmly in the correct position during pipe transportation and joint assembly. The seal is designed to absorb any permissible variation in groove geometry whilst maintaining a high sealing performance with the lowest possible jointing force.

The Forsheda 559 Rieber Metric Pressure integrated system uses the mandrel together with the seal as a tool to form the pipe socket during the manufacturing process. Forsheda 559 Rieber Metric Pressure is a seal composite consisting of: A flexible rubber element to seal effectively against spigot and socket. A treated metal insert which holds the seal firmly in place. The seal is placed onto the socket during pipe manufacture, ensuring it is always in the correct position in the join. The seal is equally effective under both positive and negative pipe pressure (vacuum).

Forsheda 560 Rieber IPS integrated system uses the mandrel together with the seal as a tool to form the pipe socket during the manufacturing process. The seal is placed onto the socket during pipe manufacture, ensuring it is always in the correct position in the join. The seal is equally effective under both positive and negative pipe pressure (vacuum).

Trelleborg 140 Lamell is a pre-lubricated sliding seal that is stretched onto the spigot of the pipe or manhole. Additional lubricat is not required for joint assembly. The joint design is standard in many countries. The seal is easy and clean to handle as the lubricant is enclosed in the sliding mantle. This allows installation with very little force as there is no friction between the rubber and concrete. The joint is designed so that the pre-lubricated mantle rolls onto the top of the spigot shoulder and into the small gap between spigot and socket during installation. This prevents concrete to concrete contact and gives efficient distribution of transvers shear loads across the joint. The rectangular cross section of the laminated sealing body makes the seal very flexible and provides excellent contact width.

Adaptor Couplings provide a solution to many cases of adaptation. The coupling is a stepped moulded elastomeric sleeve that has different diameters at each end. The sleeve is fitted with two stainless steel clamping bands which provide an efficient method of connecting pipes that have varying outside diameters and also eradicates possible bush requirements. Adaptor Couplings can also be used to connect all traditional and new pipe systems including structural walled plastic pipes. A special range of Adaptor Couplings which incorporate an extra wide clamping band at one end are available for ribbed pipe systems. The clamping band secures against two or more external ribs on the plastic ribbed pipe thereby ensuring a high performance seal is obtained irrespective of the coupling position or movement.
