Rotating Biological Contactors
Tuke & Bell - Model RoBeC - Rotating Biological Contactors
The Tuke & Bell RoBeC consists of a G.R.P. tank which is separated into a number of different treatment zones. In the Primary Settlement Zone settles gross solids into sludge, the supernatant liquor then passes forwards into the Biozone. In the Biozone, slowly rotating contactor discs treat the effluent by means of biological oxidation, the treated liquid then flows into the Final Settlement Zone. In the Final Settlement Zone any humus sludge or scum that forms as part of the natural biological process is removed by means of an automated recirculation pump system and returned to the Primary Settlement Zone for further treatment. The final effluent is then typically discharged to a reed bed or water course depending on local environmental allowances. The unit is entirely enclosed by walk-in covers; these contain any odours, guard the moving components and give a low visual impact to the plant.
Vortex Grit Plant & Screw Classifier
Tuke Bell - Model Vortex - Grit Trap
The Tuke and Bell Vortex Grit Trap works on the retention, constant velocity and forced vortex principles. A specially designed Paddle rotates in the same direction as the sewage providing a constant velocity of flow. A spiralling flow is created by the paddles to keep organic material in suspension and also creates a vortex in the lower half of the chamber to draw grit particles down to the centre hopper ready for collection. In order to clean and remove the grit, compressed air is passed through pipe work located within the centre of the tank. After cleaning, the grit is pumped by the air lift method and is discharged into a grit classifier system.
Tuke & Bell - Screw Classifie
The Tuke and Bell range of Screw Classifiers are a complete, free-standing unit, ideal for effective separation of grit from organic and other matter. A weir allows the separated organics to return, whilst grit is conveyed via the screw to a discharge point for disposal. A wash water pipe connection and spray-bar are included within the classifier body for cleaning of the grit.
Crossflow Grit Detritor & Rake Classifier
Tuke & Bell - Crossflow Grit Detritor
Influent first enters the collection tank through baffles to slow down the flow and assist grit settlement. The tank is capable of handling a wide range of flow variation.
Tuke & Bell - Rake Classifier
The Tuke & Bell Rake Classifier is a multiple-rake reciprocating mechanism, mounted within a cleaning channel, which is a narrow, continuously sloping ramp. The reciprocating action moves the grit, up the ramp towards a discharge point above top water level. At this point the grit is free of water, which assists easy and efficient disposal, and free of organic matter caused by the washing action of the reciprocating rakes.
Biological Filter Arm Distributors
Tuke & Bell - Carlton Distributor
The Tuke & Bell Carlton distributor consists of a static central column with a rotating galvanised steel tank. Either two or four distributing arms are fitted to the tank and these are supported by vertical wire ropes or solid rods attached to the top bearing head. The Carlton features a liquid seal arrangement that retains the machine prime without the need for maintenance intensive gland packing. Motive rotation force is provided by jet reaction from the arms. The distribution arms can feature EPDM “Pop-In” jets or low maintenance upward flow weir boxes if the machine is to be motorised.
Tuke & Bell - Vulcan Distributor
The Tuke & Bell Vulcan distributor consists of a static central column with a rotating galvanised steel tank. Either two or four distributing arms are fitted to the tank and these are supported by vertical wire ropes or solid rods attached to the top bearing head. The Vulcan features a paddlewheel drive system that provides rotational motive force at minimal flow rates. The distribution arms can either be an open trough with V-notch weir outlets or tubular with low maintenance upward flow weir boxes.
Scraper & Picket Fence Thickener Equipment
Tuke & Bell - Rotating Bridge Scrapers
The Tuke & Bell Rotating Bridge Scraper consists of an access bridge with an open-mesh walkway, mounted onto a central rotating bearing. The bridge supports an arrangement of helical scraper blades or alternatively a trailing scraper chain that conveys settled sludge to a central hopper for removal. Rotational drive is provided by a gearbox mounted on a peripheral end carriage.
Tuke & Bell - Fixed Bridge Scraper
The Tuke & Bell Fixed Bridge Scraper consists of an access bridge with an open-mesh walkway which spans across the diameter of the tank, mounted in a fixed position onto concrete structure or separate portal frames if a glass coated steel tank is to be used. A centrally mounted drive unit supports a hanging arrangement of helical scraper blades that conveys settled sludge to a central hopper for removal.
Tuke & Bell - Sludge Thickener
The Tuke & Bell Sludge Thickener consist of an access bridge with an open-mesh walkway which spans across the diameter of the tank, mounted in a fixed position onto concrete structure or separate portal frames if a glass coated steel tank is to be used. A centrally mounted drive unit supports a full length torque tube with a lower steady bearing; a “Picket Fence” type stirrer is mounted onto the torque tube. An echelon formation of scraper blades is utilised to provide positive movement of the thickened sludge to the centre hopper of the tank.
