eLoran Transmission Systems

eLoran - Transmission System

The UN series eLoran transmission system is a complete system built to provide multi-modal, secure, and sovereign Navigation and Timing Services. It functions where and when GPS does not while providing similar service as GPS. It is extremely difficult to jam and virtually impossible to spoof. Both The MITRE Corporation and Stanford University have published papers declaring eLoran difficult to interfere with and tremendously challenging to jam or spoof.

UrsaNav - System Management & Control Site (SM&CS) System

Fully redundant SM&CS Server (i.e., with hot swappable, redundant power supplies, and hot swappable RAID drives). providing user interface and data logging facilities. Primary workstation (including LCD monitor, keyboard, and mouse), providing user interface. Secondary workstation (including LCD monitor, keyboard, and mouse), providing user interface. Managed Network Switch with redundant power supply providing the SM&CS’s LAN and VPN protected WAN access.

Receivers and Antennas

UrsaNav - Loran-C and eLoran Timing Receiver

The UN-152B is a standalone enclosed timing receiver that uses the latest version of UrsaNav’s Mitigator™ series Low Frequency (LF) receivers. The UN-152B provides precise time, frequency, and data channel demodulation from Loran-C or eLoran systems. It features a serial port, a GPIO port and both IPPSand 10MHz inputs and outputs The receiver is capable of processing Chayka and other low or medium frequency sources.

UrsaNav - Loran-C and eLoran Timing Receiver

The UN-152A is a small form factor timing receiver that uses the latest version of UrsaNav’s Mitigator™ series Low Frequency (LF) receivers. The UN-152A provides precise time, frequency, and data channel demodulation from Loran-C or eLoran systems. It features a serial port, a GPIO port and both 1PPS and 10MHz inputs and outputs. The receiver is capable of processing Chayka and other low or medium frequency sources.

UrsaNav - Loran-C and eLoran Multipurpose System Monitor

The UN-154 is a multimode receiver that uses the latest version of UrsaNav’s Mitigator™ series Low Frequency (LF) receivers. The UN-154 is designed for use in differential Loran applications. The receiver, configured as a Reference Station (RS), measures and monitors Loran signals and calculates the differential corrections based on pseudo range measurements, nominal ASF values, and the surveyed location of the DLoran Station antennas. It can also act as an Integrity Monitor (IM) that pre- and post- checks the validity of the calculated differential corrections.

UrsaNav - Resilient PNT Receiver

The UN-155 is a multi-source Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT) receiver that uses the latest version of UrsaNav’s Mitigator™ series Low Frequency (LF) receivers. The UN-155 also contains a GPS/DGPS receiver and a radio beacon receiver. Data output from each receiver source is available through rear panel connectors and can be integrated through software running on the units Windows™ based single board computer to provide an optimized or “resilient” PNT output. The UN-155 can also accept input from an external positioning device.

Ancillary Equipment

UrsaNav - ASF Survey System

The Maritime eLoran service provider is typically responsible for publishing an ASF map with nominal ASF values for each transmitter in the harbor and approach grid. This map, together with the differential corrections, is needed by the differential eLoran users as the basis to get to 8 to 20 meter accuracies (IMO 10 Meters). UrsaNav provides equipment and survey services to produce these ASF maps. The ASF Survey Suite consists of UrsaNav’s eLoran Multipurpose Monitor Receiver (currently based upon a UN-151B) and a survey grade GNSS receiver to provide a position truth. UrsaNav also provides training for system provider personnel to perform their own surveys and produce ASF maps.
