ViaSite - Model Smiley - Speed Display for Driver Feedback

The ViaSite Smiley Face Speed Display is designed to improve driver awareness and compliance with speed limits through the use of visual feedback. Unlike traditional numeric displays, the Smiley Face Speed Display uses instantly recognizable image feedback to capture driver attention. The display leverages instant feedback by verifying and comparing vehicle speed to local speed limits ten times per second, allowing real-time response to speed changes. If a driver exceeds the speed limit, a red sad face is displayed; if the driver slows down to below the limit while approaching the sign, a green smiley face is shown, rewarding compliant behavior. The display features a triangular warning sign shape for enhanced visibility. The device includes programmable functions for setting speed limits, and filtering out non-relevant traffic, like bicycles and pedestrians. It can collect speed, date, and time data from up to 100,000 instances, with transferability via USB, serial connections, or an optional GSM/GPRS module. Furthermore, software upgrades allow extension and enhancement of features, ensuring long-term functionality.
