Industrial Gas Scrubber Systems

VSS - Foundries Gas Scrubber

In order to achieve fast ageing during core making, catalysts are added to the moulding sand in the core box. For this purpose, mainly organic but also inorganic core binding agents are used.

Processes

VSS - Gas Scrubber for Potentially Explosive Atmospheres

VSS-Umwelttechnik produces special gas scrubber for the cleaning of explosive gas mixtures or for a set-up in explosive atmospheres.

VSS - Mobile Gas Scrubbers

VSS-Umwelttechnik offers a gas scrubber which, installed in two sea containers, may be transported anywhere without difficulty, allowing fast on-site set-up and dismantling. This mobile gas scrubber is perfectly suitable for employment at hot spots with temporary accumulation of harmful gases. The standard version of our mobile gas scrubber (see illustration) processes an air volume of up to 4.000 m3/h. It is able to wash out acidic and alkaline pollutants and may be operated with both oxidising and reducing agents. Alternatively, the integrated activated carbon filter enables adsorption of solvents. For the chemicals required, safety basins for cubic tank vessels are available in one of the containers.

VSS - Chlorine Emergency Gas Scrubber

VSS-Umwelttechnik employs both packed-bed columns as well as multistage venturi gas scrubber as chlorine emergency gas scrubber, legally stipulated for chlorine storerooms.

VSS - Hybrid Nozzle Venturi Scrubber System

VSS-Umwelttechnik offers a new type of Venturi scrubber system Bayer-Reither with hybrid nozzles for the separation of aerosols and fine dusts. These scrubbers (system Bayer-Reither) are marketed under licence with Reither Venturiwäscher GmbH.

Reither - Venturi Scrubber System

The international patented slot tube Venturi scrubber System REITHER is a high efficiency wet scrubber suitable for separation of particles up to the submicron range. The advantage of this system is the high collection efficiency, the flexibility regarding fluctuation of load, its simple design and thus favourable in cost, as well as the low-maintenance operating mode.

Reither - Venturi Gas Quenching System

Waste gases from incineration plants have to be quickly cooled, e.g. in order to suppress building of dioxin at incineration of special sewages. The new quench apparatus is able to reach this as it uses the Venturi principle proved at separation of dust. The hot gas is entering the tubular apparatus from top and is cooled by the injected water. In the Venturi throats following, built by crosswise installed cylinders and by the adjustable displacer cylinder, the liquid is dispersed into finest drops because of the high shear effect of the gas flow. The flow baffles take care for an intensive renewing of limit areas between gas and liquid and found compact design and favourable price. In addition of cooling the gas is thoroughly cleaned from dust – even at process conditions of fluctuations of gas throughput thanks to the adjustable displacer. The cooled and cleaned gas leaves the apparatus through the outlet.

VSS - Laboratory Gas Scrubbers

Aggressive gaseous pollutants, such as hydrofluoric acid (HF), hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulphuric acid (H2SO4) or perchloric acid (HClO4) are frequently released during laboratory work. Our range of products therefore includes gas scrubbers which are dimensioned in such a way that they fit all standard types of laboratory furniture from top-ranking producers. Our laboratory scrubbers are fully automatic and their functions are independently programmable. Our range includes three types of devices:

VSS - Oxidative Process Scrubbers

VSS-Umwelttechnik supplies reliable incinerators, in which volatile organic pollutants are converted into CO2 and water.

VSS - Droplet Eliminators

Droplet eliminator of the T120-2 type with two profile lines. The following materials are available: PP, PPs, PE, PVDF, PVC-GRP, PP-GRP. VSS-Umwelttechnik offers plastic droplet eliminators which remove entrained liquid particles from air flows.
Our chevron type droplet separators (see illustration T120-2) show elimination rates of up to 99.9%. The elimination rate depends on the size and density of the droplets to be separated and on the viscosity of the carrier gas. An even better separation may be achieved by additional aerosol separators (model T120-2/A, mesh type) which are, for example, required for chromic acid.
A rinsing device for the purification of the chevron profiles sections and of the mesh type aerosol separators may be integrated (T120-2/S, T120-2/AS).
