Wade Trim is proud of our municipal infrastructure roots and continues to build upon our approach to find solutions. We are trusted professionals delivering America’s infrastructure solutions. This is our culture, our brand and what our clients depend on when they hire us for professional consulting services. Our disciplines include civil engineering, planning, surveying, operations, landscape architecture and environmental science services.
Our staff’s ability to deliver these solutions is supported by an excellent work environment. Wade Trim’s 16 offices and nearly 350 staff members comprise a network of resources that are shared to meet specific infrastructure challenges. For instance, an employee in our Taylor office that specializes in traffic signalization design may work on a project in our Bay City office area if required. Mentoring between employees is also important. Senior staff often work with younger employees to increase their knowledge. The bigger the variety of projects, the stronger their experience. Diversity of employees also makes our project teams strong and flexible.
As an employee-owned firm, investing in our infrastructure is also important. We have built offices in Taylor, Gaylord and Bay City, Michigan. Our financial commitment to computer technology outpaces many firms in our industry and keeps us on the cutting edge of project delivery.
Wade Trim has had many memorable projects and successes. We are consistently ranked in the top 200 environmental firms and continue to be nationally recognized for innovative solutions. We are on a quest to grow, using our expertise to provide infrastructure solutions in new areas. Our latest expansion efforts have resulted in offices in Omaha, Nebraska; Palm Bay, Florida; and Grapevine, Texas.
Wade Trim’s roots trace back to 1926 when a small firm was created in Dearborn, Michigan, not far from Henry Ford’s estate, to provide professional engineering services to nearby municipalities. In 1951, a teenage boy named Robert Wade was hired as a part-time drafter and survey assistant. A young engineer named Don Trim was hired in 1964. Growing through hard work and the buyouts of two small firms, Wade Trim emerged under the leadership of Bob and Don in 1968. With a staff of 22, the firm moved to Taylor, Michigan, in 1970.
As work grew in response to changing client needs, our staff and offices grew through acquisitions and new client growth. We geographically diversified to maintain local service by opening offices throughout central and northern Michigan. In 1984, we expanded out of state by opening an office in Florida. Further expansion followed with offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Texas. Today, Wade Trim employs more than 300 people in 16 offices throughout six states.
Our expertise also grew to provide a full range of professional engineering, planning, surveying, operations and landscape architecture services to meet the infrastructure needs of government and industry.
