The APEX Biodigester sewage treatment plant superceeds our very successful Falcon Range. Designed for use where the installation of a septic tank is either unacceptable or impractical and a connection to the main sewer impossible. These plants are particularly useful for situations where intermittent flow, very low flow and seasonal fluctuating flow rates cause serious problems for other sewage treatment systems. They are ideal for campsites, caravan parks, holiday parks, etc. as the APEX Biodigester has a unique recycling system which balances the flow in these situations. The plant illustrated is a Apex 70 person system.

The FilterPod is ideal for weekend cottages, sporadic letting or 2nd homes, as it can not only cope with sporadic use, but also with very little occupation when it is in use. It is ideal for off-grid homes. Some of the latest sewage treatment systems do not need electricity to power the treatment process. They use natural air currents to aerate the sewage and are non-aquatic Filtration Sewage Treatment Plant Systems.

FilterPod systems consists of a separate settlement tank, which can be an existing traditional brick or concrete septic tank, followed by the FilterPod sewage treatment plant.

The FilterPod can be vented either Non-Electrically or Eco-Electrically, without the need for the Filterpod vent pipe.

FilterPod must be aerated in order to provide the microorganisms that clean the wastewater with oxygen. FilterPod is designed to use passive, non electric aeration but this is not always possible, as on some sites, an Air Outlet Vent may not be possible, or effective. In these circumstance a Fan Box can be fitted to the air outlet vent to electrically draw air through the tank and RDX media.

The FilterPod sewage treatment plant has also been tested at the EN Test Centre using artificial ventilation.

RDX media has been specifically developed to provide the optimum balance of water, air and surface area for bacteria to grow on. The RDX media can rapidly and effectively absorb large volumes of effluent, as happens at peak flow times. There is also sufficient air available within the media to promote active colonies of aerobic bacteria. These bacteria digest the pollutants trapped in the RDX matrix.

The FilterPod settlement tanks are 2 identical tanks which provide 2 stages of settlement for the solids to settle out. The second tank is fitted with a DrainX Filter to prevent small solids from exiting the tank.

These DrainX effluent filters push into the vertical part of the outlet pipe in the settlement tank to prevent solids from exiting the tank and clogging the FilterPod stone-fibre filter media.
