BARR - In-Ground Water Diverter Specifications
Product SpecificationsBuried and out of sight, In-Ground Water Diverters are perfect for sloping allotments. On a site thatprovides the opportunity for the end cap of the diverter to be positioned above ground (to drain outand be accessible for maintenance), an In-Ground Diverter allows a ‘wet’ system to be converted into a‘dry’ system. Most systems are ‘wet’ due to the size of buildings, and the placement of tanks away from the buildingsmean that there are long runs of pipe underground leading to a riser at the tank. On a sloping site thisdiverter ensures the diverted water and the water that would normally remain in the pipes empties out.The result – a ‘dry’ system that improves water quality.Product DescriptionFeatures and Benefits• Prevents sediment, bird droppings, spiders, insects, mosquito eggs and debris from enteringthe rainwater tank.• Improves water quality, protects pumps andinternal appliances.• Ideal to use in conjunction with a rain head.• Perfect for sloping allotments.• No mechanical parts.• Inlet fits 90mm pipe or 100mm female fitting.• Simple to install – just add pipe and glue.• Low maintenance.• Converts a ‘wet’ system in to a ‘dry’ system.Water Storage Tank.955 micron Tank Screen with a light arrestor is best althoughdirect coupling into the tank is an option.Aerobic ZoneAnaerobic ZoneGround levelBy installing an In-Ground First Flush Water Diverter the system is converted from a ‘wet’ system into a ‘dry’ system.Vector Proofall openings.Leaf Eater Rain Head with Mozzie Proof Secondary Screen to downpipes.Waterfrom roofProduct: In-Ground First FlushWater DiverterCode: WDIG01Prevents the first flush of rainwater, whichmay contain contaminants from the roof, from entering the tank.Fresh water to tankDiverterchamberOutletA “dry” system is a system where the pipes drain outand dry out after rain. A system where pipes do nothold water after the rain stops.Compliance• AS/NZS 4020:2005 – Testing of products for use in contact with drinking water.asLOGO W/INFOProduct SpecificationsDISCLAIMER This product specification is not a complete guide to product usage. Further information is available from Rain Harvesting Pty Ltd and from the Installation andOperating Instructions . This specification sheet must be read in conjunction with the Installation and Operating Instructions and all applicable statutory requirement. Productspecifications may change without notice. © Rain Harvesting Pty LtdPO222InstallationMaintenanceDetermine the length of 300mm pipe required using thetable.Inlet End: The ball seat #6 is inserted into the top of theend cap as shown. For 90mm infeed – insert the ball seat #6 and attach theinfeed pipe hard down on top of ball seat #6.For 100mm infeed – insert the ball seat #6 and glue the90mm keeper ring (28mm long) hard down on top of theball seat #6 to keep it firmly in place.Outlet End: The outlet requires only 90mm pipe.Assemble as shown in the attached drawing making sureto insert ball #7 before attaching cap #11. Select one ofthe four control valves #12 and fit into hose connector#13. Save the remaining valves for possible later use.Ensure the outlet of the diverter is clear of any debris. If the outlet is blocked, the chamber will not empty andthe first flush of water when it rains will not be diverted.Periodically unscrew the End Cap #11 of the water diverterto allow debris to fall out. Hose or wash the Filter Screen#10 if required and clean the Flow Control Valve #12.SIZES (300mm DIAM.
