MP 1138000-030214 D1. ApplicationThe Breakthrough Indicator Sticker (PN: 113) is qualitative (yes/no) colorimetricindicator for the exhaustion and end-of-service life of low-flow filters. The indicator isdesigned to provide real-time indication of the breakthrough of HPLC solvents vapors, including:a. Acetoneb. Acetonitrilec. Chloroformd. DCM/Methylene Chloride (Dichloromethane)e. Ethanolf.Ethyl Acetateg. HFIP Hexafluoroisopropanolh. Methanoli. Phenolj. Sulfolanek. THF (Tetrahydrofuran)2. Specifications2.1. Overall Specificationa. Weight: 0.4g (0.02oz)b. Dimensions: 1.5 mm (0.06 in),f: 19.05 mm (0.75in) c. Operating temperature: 4oC to 35oC (39oF to 95oF)d. Operating humidity: 5% RH to 85%RHe. Minimum detectable limit: See performance specifications (2.2.)f. Color change: Orange to redg. Storage temperature: 4oC to 25oC, (39oF to 77oF)h. Service life: 1 yeari. Shelf life: 14 Mon. at 4oC to 25oC, (39oF to 77oF)2.2. Performance SpecificationTo determine the sensitivity of the breakthrough indicator, a solution/mixture of 10%solvent in water was bubbled with ambient air at a flow rate of 5cc/min. Thebreakthrough indicator sticker was exposed to the airflow until a color change wasobserved. The elapsed time to observe the first noticeable and the final colors for therespective organic solvent is depicted in the table below.2.3. Cross interferencesBasic vapors in high concentrations impair the performance of the organic vaporsbreakthrough indicator. Acid vapors in high concentrations produce color similar toorganic vapors. No other interferences are known.www.chemteq.netHPLC Solvents BTIS LFF ManualChemteq, Inc., 600 West 24th Street, Suite B, Norfolk, Virginia 23517, Tel 757-622-2223, sales@chemteq.net©2009 Chemteq, Inc.
