This is generally called an ID/OD joint.Another type of joint is the Collar and Flare connection. This is where you make a ? are on the end of one pipe and a matching collar on the end of another pipe. The pipes are then assembled with a V-clamp, which is a special type of clamp with a V track that ? ts over the collar and ? are.
