High centrifugal forcescombined with optimized frequenciesand dual amplitudes ensure maxi -mum productivity on projects such as highway construction, driveways,parking lots and landfills. Tractioncontrol provides maximum grade -ability for slope work. A heavy-dutyarticulation joint and balanced frameextend life and provide precisioncompaction performance. Case SV Series machines can beequipped with either a smooth or padfoot drum. Smooth drum rollers aredesigned for medium and large scalecompaction of loose and semi-cohesivematerials and rockfill. Padded drumrollers are designed for medium andlarge scale compaction of semi-cohesive and cohesive materials.The high-traction, hydrostatic drivesystem has the rear wheels synch-ronized with the drum. This providesexcellent gradeability. Because Case SV Series machines have alower center of gravity, they can work across steeper slopes thanother models in their class. Thearticulation joint oscillates as well as articulates for greater effective -ness when operating on uneven or difficult terrain.Makes long work daysmore productiveThe operator's station is designed toprovide comfortable two-side accessto the platform. Operator-friendlycontrols make long workdays moreproductive. The operator has excel-lent sight lines to the work area andgood rear visibility for maneuveringbetween passes. The seat can bepositioned straight ahead for workingforward or turned 50 degrees to theright for reverse travel.The large canopy shields the operatorfrom sun or rain. The suspension seatswivels, has fore and aft adjustments,a reclining seat back, adjustable armrests and variable adjustments foroperator height and weight.A single lever controls speed,direction and vibration on/off. A unique three-speed selector switch enables the operator to set a maximum operating speed forconsistent and efficient compactionperformance. Controls for amplitude,engine speed, and emergencyshutdown are within easy reach.The muffler is located beneath theinsulated engine hood and wellbehind the operator’s platform. Thiskeeps heat away from the operatorand the noise level down. Theoperator is protected from vibrationthrough a combination of the seat’ssuspension and shock-absorbingrubber isolators located between theoperator’s platform and the chassis.COMFORTABLE OPERATOR ENVIRONMENT3Reliable, durable and easy to operateEasy service accessThe engine cover lifts at the flip of aswitch, providing easy, ground-levelaccess to daily maintenance checks,including battery, fuel and air filters,oil fill, dip stick and the coolingsystem. All fluid levels can bechecked from ground level. Pull-out steps on both rear corners ofthe machine provide access to theupper part of the engine compartment. The tilting operator’s platformprovides easy access to the majorhydraulic components for quickservicing and greater uptime.POWERTRAIN AND SERVICE ACCESSEnginesAll SV Series machines are equippedwith powerful, reliable engines. A108-gallon fuel capacity provides 36hours of operating time. Tank locationin the machine’s integral rear bumperenhances rear-wheel traction andcontributes to the low center ofgravity. In addition, it makes the fuel filler very accessible.Service access is outstanding with an easy-lift engine cover and operator’s platform.4PRODUCTIVITY AND RELIABILITYExcellent visibilityThe sloping rear deck gives theoperator excellent rear visibility—further enhanced by the seat thatswivels 50 degrees. The operator ofthe Case SV Series machines can seea three-foot tall object within threefeet of the machine. Rear visibility isespecially important in compactionequipment because nearly 50 percentof working time is spent operating inthe reverse direction. One key design element thatcontributes to the sloping enginecover and the low center of gravity is the engine mounting position –between the hydrostatic motorsrather than above a conventionaltransaxle. The resulting lower centerof gravity provides the SV Seriesmachines greater stability whileworking across the face of a grade.Wider and lowerThe Case SV Series machines arewider and lower than most of thecompetition. The drum is wider aswell, with a smaller diameter. Thisresults in improved rim pull whichcontributes to the SV Series’ better gradeability.More compaction per passThe SV Series features two amplitude settings: low amplitude,high frequency for granular material;and high amplitude, low frequency for cohesive material.
