This connection of thedrawing-in and pressure cylinders guar-antees an almost continuous operationwith free passage of the material to beconveyed without valves. Individual for-eign bodies in the material to be convey-ed can easily be conveyed with a particlesize of up to 80 % of the outlet diameter.When the S-transfer tube switches over,minimum return flow can occur in isolat-ed cases at very high pressures. This isusually less than 5 % of the stroke vol-ume.In these exceptional cases, it is advisableto use damping systems which excludethis return flow.KOS pumps have free passage withoutany troublesome resistance to flow. They can thus suck in also the stiffest ofsludges.The simple design with very few movableparts reduces the share of wear parts to aminimum. This pump is thus ideallysuitable for the 3 shift operation withhigh service live.The KOS easily handles highly-viscoussludges such as materials to be con-veyed with a high share of coarse grain.KOS-Pumps are especially robust andresistant. The conveyed product in the hopper isintensively kneaded and mixed in thescrew conveyors and then forced in thecylinders to achieve a high level ofvolumetric efficiency. This enables evencompact, moist and almost dry waste tobe pumped into the cylinders. The design of the screw conveyors de-termines the mixing intensity. The wastecontinues to be mixed in the pump anddelivery line due to the turbulent flow. A Mixopress device can dose severaladditives continuously.
