The Illuminator eliminatesall these problems. It's a compact, high performanceFTIR module that easily and efficiently integrates withsample interfaces in virtually any configuration.Inside the standard Illuminator is a high energy, air-cooledsource and the patented MIDAC interferometer. With a wellearned reputation for resistance to low frequency vibrationinterference and the ability to operate reliably virtually any-where in any orientation, the MIDAC interferometer is ideal fordemanding applications. The Illuminator's rugged, cast alu-minum enclosure includes a single output port equipped witha windowed interface flange. This provides an exit for the collimated output beam while maintaining a sealed and fullypurgeable instrument interior.Dedicated Sampling SystemsCouple the Illuminator with any external sample interface equippedwith its own IR detector (like an FTIR microscope, reflectance sys-tem, or custom interface) to create a compact, dedicated instru-ment. Replace the standard output port with a fiber-optic couplingand add a fiber probe or other sampling device with an externaldetector for a rugged, flexible Near or Mid-IR workstation.Custom ConfigurationsThe compact Illuminator conveniently fits into NEMA enclosureswhere it can be used with an external detector module, (DTGS,MCT, or InSb), and your choice of sample interface for industrialapplications. It is also used in systems that must be operated with-in fume hoods or isolation chambers. A single base plate is available for mounting the Illuminator together with a sample celland detector module .Emissions ApplicationsThe emissions model substitutes an internal detector for the stan-dard IR source. This makes an elegant system for studying theblack body radiation of your sample, for open path studies, or forany use with an external source.Operate AnywhereThe Illuminator can be run by a 12 VDC battery (in addition to stan-dard AC power) for mobile, portable, or remote applications. A longrange fiber optic data interface is also available. Like all MIDACFTIR systems, the Illuminator is driven by a PC compatible note-book or desktop computer.
