Pulp Baling Wire Brochure

Only the best is good enoughBaling wire for the pulp industryPulp baling wireManufacture of quality products, based on carefully selected raw materialsFrom raw materials through wire rod to galvanised wire, production takes place under one roof and in the same organization. The wire rod is produced by Severstal, our mother company, on modern continuous casting equipment that guarantees uniformly high product quality in every meter of wire. Modern wire-drawing machinery secures exact mechanical tolerances. Our specially developed galvanising process ensures excel-lent rust protection and guarantees perfect adhesion of the zinc, thereby minimising unnecessary service on the baling equipment. Optimised logistics mean lower total cost Wire is a low value-added product. Transportation costs represent a significant part of total product cost. We therefore minimise raw materials transportation, and move only the end product – directly to your door, on your order. Optimised logistics reduces costs as well as environmental impact. Time-definite deliveryWe deliver direct from our stock, according to agreed time schedules. We always have sufficient material in stock to guarantee quick delivery within Europe. On your demand we can also maintain a small local stock, for delivery within 24 hours. We understand the cost of production stops. As our customer, you need never be short of wire.Galvanised steel wire for pulp binding- and unitising machinesDiameters:baling wire 2.3 mmunitising wire 3.0 mmTensile strength:baling wire 850 – 1 050 N/mm2unitising wire 1 080 – 1 250 N/mm2Zinc coating thickness:25 – 45 g/m2Safe handling and trouble-free operationYou don’t need to compromise. Our wire’s high tensile strength satisfies the norms and regulations of work-place safety authorities and can be adjusted according to the specific requirements of our customers. It also helps to secure the safe handling of the pulp bales and load units – both in stock and during loading & unloading in harbours. At the same time, our wire has good ductility and high elongation. This helps to ensure the best operat-ing conditions while minimising component wear in the wire-tying machines. Wire specificationProduct Information: Anordica - 05/2003Wire CoilsThe wire is coiled in ‘rosette’ pattern, in coils weighing about 1 000 kg. Each coil consists of one continuous length, without welded parts, and is strapped with 4 steel bands with 4 lifting rings. The ‘start’ end of the wire is marked with a tag indicating wire data. Wire is normally delivered unwrapped but, if required, can be packed according to customer requirements. The wires suit – and have been used on a large scale – on Sunds Defibrator, Cranston, Rauma-Repola and Lamb Europe binding and unitising machines.JSC Kotlas Pulp and Paper Mill is the largest pulp and paper mill in Russia and one of the largest in Europe. The mill is a part of the Ilim Pulp Enterprise, which accounts for almost 40% of Russia’s overall pulp and board production and has an annual turnover exceeding USD 1 billion. With this turnover, it is very important to have trouble-free production with as few production stops as possible. Kotlas works together with Cherepovets Steel Rolling Plant to avoid any disturbance in tying machine operations. The large coils (up to 1 000 kg) used by Cherepovets Steel Rolling Plant contribute to low down-time for coil handling, and increase the time between new wire insertions in the baling machine. Meeting the requirements and norms of many different coun-tries is a major concern when you are a global exporter. With pulp export to over 30 countries – from the USA to the Far East – the Solombalsky Pulp and Paper Mill must fulfil all the regulations at a wide range of different ports. They choose baling wire from Cherepovets Steel Rolling Plant because they must be completely confident in the packaging of the pulp they deliver to their customers. Now they know that it is accepted in every harbour and by every shipping company, around the world. “Our company exports more than 90% of its pulp production to different regions with different weather conditions – from tropical to Arctic. We have only received positive comments on the wire used for pulp bales. No corrosion – no destruction. It’s a good and reliable product”, say technicians at this factory.Outside Ø, 800 ±30 mmInside Ø,400 ±20 mmThe tensile strength and elongation stated above satisfy the recommended Safety Minimum Standards for Baling and Lifting issued by the British Paper and Board Industry Federation. Unitising wire satisfies the Swedish rules stipulated by the National Swedish Board of Occupation Safety and Health in Directive No. 119, dated 1997.
