Oskar-Erich Peter, an engineer at RINGFEDER, invents the clamping element.

1922
The German Patent Office grants the patent for a spring consisting of rings, spring, invented by Ernst Kreissig, engineer at the Waggonfabrik A.G., Uerdingen. In the same year, RINGFEDER GMBH is founded to acquire and exploit the inventor`s rights of Waggonfabrik A.G., since the German State Railroad at that time only awards contracts on a quota basis and no turnover should be lost on the wagons.
