Technical Data Sheet I.N.D.I.A. INDUSTRIE CHIMICHE S.p.A. Nona Strada 55/57 35129 Padova Italia JUVENOX SC15 Suspension concentrated IGR larvicide containing diflubenzuron Public Health Product – Italian MOH registration no. 19443 Composition, 100 g product contain: Pure Diflubenzuron g 15 (160.5 g/l) Co-formulating agents and water up to g 100 DIFLUBENZURON family benzoylphenylureas Mode of action By contact and ingestion Insecticidal activity Inhibits the synthesis of chitin and kills larvae in the moult phase Insect development phase to control Larval phases; effect on eggs too Formulation In this insecticide diflubenzuron is elaborated to obtain very tiny particles in a water suspension by using dispersing, suspending, wetting and thickening agents. The product obtained, named flowable, is solvent-free, has reduced danger for operators, has a reduced environmental impact, is not flammable and not toxic to vegetation. Compatibility JUVENOX SC15 is compatible with most insecticides. However, to take advantage of its “ecological” properties it is advisable not to mix it with other insecticides. Main target insect-pests All larval phases of Diptera (houseflies, mosquitoes, chironomid midges, simulidae) in their development environment. The contact with or ingestion of diflubenzuron prevents larvae from completing their development to reach the adult stage and thus kills them. They die following inhibition of the activity of the chitin-syntetase enzyme whereby the insect is unable to form an efficient cuticle at the end of the moult phase. The insecticidal action of JUVENOX SC15 takes place comparatively slowly and gradually; in general, it takes 36-48 hours for the effect to become manifest. The insecticidal action, though, remains for a few weeks (3-4 on average), depending on the organi matter load of the water treated. Technical Data Sheet I.N.D.I.A. INDUSTRIE CHIMICHE S.p.A. Nona Strada 55/57 35129 Padova Italia Areas of application JUVENOX SC15 is suitable to treat: - For mosquito control: ditches, drains, ponds, puddles, manholes, ricefield waters. At recommended dilution rates diflubenzuron is not toxic to fish and birds present in humid places. - For fly control: animal dung pits, depuration muds, organic waste deposits Dilution rates JUVENOX SC15 must be diluted in water and then applied in larval reproduction pockets, as evenly as possible. The following chart gives a few possible dilutions based on practice: Target pest Type of water Dilution rate Application rate Mosquito larvae Still water with a depth <50 cm 2.5 ml in 5-10 litres water Finely vaporise 1 litre of emulsion on a surface of 10-20 square metres Mosquito larvae Still water with a depth between 50 cm and 1 metre 5 ml in 5-10 litres water Finely vaporise 1 litre of emulsion on a surface of 10-20 square metres Mosquito larvae Road manholes 7 ml in 1 litre water Use 40 mls of emulsion to treat 1 manhole having a capacity of 40-50 litres Fly larvae Animal dung pits, depuration muds, organic waste deposits 35-70 ml of concentrated product every 10 square metres, diluted in water apply 400-600 ml of solution per square metre Active ingredient toxicity Diflubenzuron is little toxic to warm-blooded animals: DIFLUBENZURON LD50 acute oral rat 4640 mg/kg LD50 acute dermal rat >10000 mg/kg Warning For the proper use of this product, follow the instructions given on the product label.
