This Conference will provide a unique national perspective on water efficiency and conservation programs, issues and initiatives - focussing on all aspects of municipal efficiency programs from technology, to best management practices, to policy and education programs. Jonathan Dennis is a policy advisor at the Environment Agency, which is the environmental regulator covering England and Wales. He has been working in demand management within water resources for three years and prior to this he worked in water resources in the water industry.

Jonathan has led and advised on projects looking at a wide range of water conservation techniques. These include examining the links between water and energy efficiency, advising on sustainable building policy and researching water reuse and recycling technologies.

The POLIS Project on Ecological Governance is organizing a `Water Conservation Planning Workshop` on October 13, 2009 (8:15 am to 1:45 pm) at the Inn at Laurel Point, Victoria, BC.

Complementary to the CWWA 3rd National Conference on Water Efficiency and Conservation, the Workshop is targeted at municipal staff directly involved in the development of water plans, such as water managers and staff, sustainability coordinators, engineers, ecologists, consultants, watershed advisors and citizen representatives. The Workshop will talk about implementing the POLIS WaterSmart Toolkit into your community.
