It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the IDA World Congress 2017 on Water Reuse and Desalination, which will be held in São Paulo, Brazil, October 15-20, 2017.Since its first Congress in 1985, the IDA World Congress has been recognized as the premier global event in the desalination and water reuse industry. The Congress offers exceptional opportunities to expand your knowledge of current and emerging desalination and water reuse technologies. Participants include end users (utilities), researchers, consultants, academia and manufacturers and suppliers of complete systems and components (inclusive of chemicals and materials). IDA is committed to the development and promotion of the appropriate use of desalination and desalination technology as a critical part of the solution to address the world’s water problems.

In addition to the refreshment breaks and lunches, the Congress includes a number of evening networking opportunities bringing together delegates in an atmosphere of camaraderie. Connect with former and current colleagues and engage in dialogue with new business contacts throughout Congress week at any of the following social events.

Welcome Reception – Sunday, October 15
Following the exhibition ribbon cutting ceremony, the Congress welcome reception will commence in the Golden Hall throughout the exhibition area. As the first social event kicking off Congress week, this is an excellent opportunity to connect early on with potential business contacts and book appointments or schedule meetings in the days to come.

Exhibition Hospitality Hour – Monday, October 16, Wednesday, October 18
The Exhibition will remain open after the technical sessions end for delegates to enjoy some food, drink and social time with exhibitors and one another. Stop by and celebrate being part of the IDA World Congress community.

Cultural Night – Tuesday, October 17
A Samba School will bring all the excitement of Carnivale to the IDA World Congress 2017 and light up the night with a performance that embodies the festive spirit and theme of the world renowned Samba Parade. You don’t want to miss out on this event!

IDA Young Leaders Reception – Wednesday, October 18
Hosted by IDA, this casual evening reception will bring together current and prospective members of the Young Leaders Program to talk about YLP goals and objectives and create opportunities for future networking and collaboration. This special event is only open to members of IDA’s YLP, along with anyone age 35 or younger who may be interested in joining IDA and the YLP.

Closing Reception and Awards Ceremony – Thursday, October 19
Guests will gather after the conclusion of the technical program to celebrate the success of the 2017 World Congress. Look back with us at activities and events of the Congress and celebrate the winners of the Presidential and Technical Paper awards. Meet the next IDA President and Board of Directors and share in the excitement of the upcoming 2019 World Congress.

It is with great pleasure that we announce information about the Technical Program for the IDA World Congress 2017 on Desalination and Water Reuse, which will be held in São Paulo, Brazil at the World Trade Center, São Paulo.

The Theme of this World Congress is Ensure Your Water Future and will feature four days of technical sessions, lectures, panel discussions, workshops.

The Congress theme is vital to the discussions already taking place surrounding the growing demand for a sustainable source of fresh water in response to population growth, economic expansion, degradation of existing resources and the effects of climate change. This program will bring together leading experts from government, academia, and industry to share valuable knowledge, experiences and views; and provide unparalleled opportunities for cross-collaboration between these sectors to resolve the challenges of desalination and advance its adoption around the world.

The Congress Technical Program will be co-chaired by Mr. Miguel Angel SanzMr. Guillaume Clairet, Mr. Juan Miguel Pinto, and Mr. Renato Giani Ramos, who are highly respected authorities in desalination.
