Envirocheck Launch Welcomed by the Environment Industry
Landmark Information Group has launched a new mapping, land data intelligence and report ordering website designed specifically for environmental professionals.
Envirocheck.co.uk offers the environment industry quick and easy access to the largest collection of environmental, geological, planning and mapping information they need from one convenient source. Envirocheck is already the industry standard desk top study tool and is relied upon daily by thousands of consultants and with the new website providing more detailed mapping and greater environmental data intelligence, the service will enable consultants to produce environmental due diligence reports with even greater interpretation.
New website features include a sophisticated interactive zoom facility and bespoke navigation tools across four layers of mapping (1:1,250, 1:10,000, 1:20,000 and 1:50,000). The service also offers greater flexibility with four buffer zone options ranging from 50 to 1,000 metres, providing the consultant with more choice. Environmental reports for larger, more complex sites over 15 hectares can also now be ordered online.
Advancements in data accuracy have enabled Landmark to offer additional unique data sets as part of the website launch. These include a Flood map at a scale of 1:10,000, a Source Protection Zone map at a scale of 1:25,000 and a Borehole map.
The new website has been welcomed by many industry players, including WSP. Tim Clare, Technical Director at WSP, who was involved in the consultation process commented:
`Envirocheck.co.uk represents a further development of targeted information to the environmental consultant industry, and provides an invaluable source of detailed and accurate environmental information. The website has the potential to save a great deal of time when analysing environmentally sensitive data, increasing productivity, and provide further value to the work we produce for clients.`
With clients facing greater legislative pressures and the Government`s high targets for Brownfield site development, the role of the environmental consultant is becoming increasingly valued. Consequently, the demand for consultants to provide advice faster and more accurately has also increased and Envirocheck.co.uk answers this need. The service was developed following consultation with over a thousand professionals who wanted to see a quicker, more streamlined method of ordering maps to enhance the desk top study process.
Envirocheck.co.uk is the latest innovation from Landmark Information Group who hold the UK`s largest archive of Ordnance Survey historical maps dating back to the 1840`s, and follows last year`s addition of new data sets including a Geology report and Historical Town Plans.
Commenting on the launch of the website, Richard Pawlyn, Managing Director of Landmark`s Property and Environment Division, said:
`Following numerous one to one research sessions with our clients over the past year, it became clear that Landmark could play a significant role in helping to lift the increasing time pressure affecting consultants.`
`The launch of Envirocheck.co.uk is a significant milestone for the industry and will save precious analysis time and enable more accurate environmental due diligence assessments. We look forward to working closely with clients again in the future to ensure we continue to understand day to day issues, and respond accordingly by evolving and developing industry bespoke products and services that fill their needs.`
