ERG enjoying significant Middle East sales growth through winning formula
October 2011 - Horsham UK. ERG (Air Pollution Control) Ltd, the UK-based supplier of odour and air pollution control systems, reports record performance through its Middle East office, with first half-year sales up 75% over the same period last year.
The key driver to this success has been strong performance in supplying odour control systems to the wastewater treatment sector in the UAE. This performance has been built on excellent working relationships with leading regional contracting customers, particularly Metito and JOG Union Engineering.
This follows ERG`s recent success with industrial gas treatment projects in the Middle East, most notably the methane pre-treatment plant for Qatar-based QAFCO in 2010, where ERG`s venturi scrubbers clean particulates from methane which is fed direct from the undersea gas wells to QAFCO`s fertiliser production facility.
Examples of recent wastewater sector projects include the completion of two-stage chemical scrubbers providing odour control at the pumping stations on islands 3 and 4 of the Al Marjan Island resort development in Ras Al Khaimah for JOG Union. This was completed on time against an accelerated schedule. ERG is also currently supplying multiple odour control units for phases 1 and 2 of the Abu Dhabi sewer rehabilitation schemes for Metito.
Reviewing the results, Middle-East Director, Richard Hanson commented: "We are particularly delighted to report strong Middle East growth in odour control for the wastewater sector, as this is ERG`s core business. By sourcing engineering designs and precision components from the UK where there is depth of experience and combining this with local Gulf manufacture of bulky vessels and tanks, and using ERG`s local project management and commissioning team, ERG has a winning formula delivering leading technology at competitive prices, all tailored to local market requirements and managed through a client interface via our Middle East office."
