Sweeping first time air pollution rules for refineries
Below is a post from AP about two important actions being taken by EPA. Here’s the main points being made:
- Refineries will be made to measure emissions at their property lines and take corrective actions. EPA considers this 'neighborhood watch for toxic pollutants' (Gina McCarthy, EPA Administrator)
- This is a demonstration of the Obama administration's commitment to 'environmental justice' (Gina McCarthy, EPA Administrator)
- Today we expect to see additional sweeping charges that look to lower the current ozone standard from 75 ppb to 70 ppb
Catalytic Products International has been in front of these actions for years. We’ve published numerous white papers about EPA actions in the refining industries, EPA efforts to lower ozone standards, and more recently notifying our followers about environmental justice.
