90 Degree Elbow
Elbows are a type of fastening device that could be used to change the direction of flow between two pipes in a system. Generally, elbows are available with an angle of 22.5, 45 and 90 Degree. A 90 degree elbow dimensions are used in those instances, where the direction of the flow of media is to be altered to a course of 90 degrees. The 90 degree pipe elbow dimensions is a part of the ASME B16.9 used to construct a 90 degree elbow, which also takes into account the grade of material used, size, tolerance, markings etc.
If pipes are of the same diameter are present in a piping system then normal elbows such as ASME B16.9 90 degree elbow are used otherwise. Elbows are made of different materials like alloy steel, carbon steel, Inconel, Hastelloy, stainless steel as well as duplex and super duplex steels. Carbon Steel 90 degree elbow, which is one of the least expensive elbows are available with female threads. These flanges can be fixed by either butt or socket welding also. On the other hand, the Stainless Steel 90 deg elbow tends to be the most versatile and not a very costly alloy in comparison to high end alloys such as Inconel and Hastelloy
