faCellitate BIOFLOAT™ - Model F202003 -96-well Plates for Spheroid Cell Culture
The BIOFLOAT™ 96-well plate is optimized for spheroid cell culture, offering a unique, inert, and cell-repelling surface that enhances rapid spheroid formation. It ensures high reproducibility with a single, round spheroid formed per well, eliminating cell aggregates and the need for centrifugation. This plate supports spheroid generation across various cell types, including tumor lines, primary human and animal cells, and stem cells. The spheroids maintained in these plates boast high viability and functionality, suitable for long-term cultivation over several months. The plates are constructed from clear polystyrene with a U-bottom design and a recommended working volume of 100 µl. Notably, they are made without raw materials of animal origin, ensuring they are non-pyrogenic, non-cytotoxic, and free of DNase, RNase, and DNA. The production process includes precision coating via pipetting robots and sterilization by electron beam irradiation, according to DIN EN ISO 11137 standards, making them strictly for research use.
The BIOFLOAT™ 96-well plate outperforms existing products by its anti-adhesive properties:
- Rapid spheroid formation – BIOFLOAT plates are supporting faster cell aggregation into spheroids compared to competitor plates. Spheroids are usually forming within 24 hours after cell seeding in BIOFLOAT plates.
- High reproducibility of spheroid generation – A single perfectly round-shaped spheroid is forming in each well of BIOFLOAT plates, without any further satellites or cell aggregates.
- Reliable spheroid formation – Spheroids can be generated in BIOFLOAT plates with a variety of different cell types, including tumor cell lines, human and animal primary cells and stem cells.
- No need for centrifugation – Centrifugation after cell seeding is not needed, saving time and reducing cellular stress.
- Stability in long term cultivation of spheroids – Highly viable and functional spheroids can be cultivated for several months in BIOFLOAT plates.
