AB Valves - Model Knife Type -Gate Valve
Knife type gate valves are designed for top performance and a long maintenance free lifetime. They can be found in various industries. The stainless steel knife gate valve is a highly precise manufactured valve, designed for a tight closure of mainly mediums with a more heavy consistency. Its knife-like edge cuts through heavy or high viscous fluids. Knife edges are machine chamfered to reduce packing wear. The brass stem nut makes opening and closing the valve smooth and speedy, with low torque requirements. Knife gate valves can be mounted as “wafer type” between two pipe flanges. Because of its special design there is very little friction between the moveable parts and the body.
The knife gate moves upwards and down wards through layers of packing without ever touching the body and thus never collects any heavy viscous fluids, pulverized material, and powders on the blade. Knife gate valves can tolerate heat expansion caused by the fluid temperature that passes through. Knife gate valves can be installed at the end of pipe line as a lug.
