ACOUSTIFLEX - Polyurethane Systems
The ACOUSTIFLEX® brand represents an innovative family of formulated polyurethane systems developed to deliver lightweight acoustic insulation and absorption in transportation-related acoustic applications.
Depending on the particular system selected, ACOUSTIFLEX® polyurethane systems will provide customers with one or more of the following benefits:
- a distinct functionality or combination of functionalities with regard to transmission loss;
- acoustic absorption or dynamic noise vibration damping;
- good thermal performance and compliance with a wide range of flammability requirements;
- fast cycle times optimized for production efficiency;
- compliance with the low emission standards for most OEMs.
ACOUSTIFLEX® polyurethane systems may be used in a wide range of acoustic applications including flexible high-resiliency and viscoelastic foam carpet underlay, dash insulators and stuffer pads, as well as semi-rigid foam, wheelhouse, transmission tunnel and pillar cavity fill insulators and elastomeric, heavylayer noise barriers. ACOUSTIFLEX® polyurethane systems offer a robust processing window for a number of manufacturing methods such as open- and closed-pour (injection), high-pressure, cold-cure molding, and free-rise batch block (i.e. box pour). Substrates that may be used with ACOUSTIFLEX® polyurethane systems include carpet, PVC, EVA, PUR and various types of fabric scrim.
