AELSteam Jet Vacuum Systems

SHARE

Typical areas of application for multistage steam jet vacuum pumps are systems for rectification, evaporation, drying, sublimation, degassing, condensation, polymerization and deodorization. Two-stage systems are primarily used to vent turbine condensers. As with other types of pumps, the achievable compression ratio of back pressure to suction pressure is limited. When suction from a higher vacuum, the total compression ratio from the suction pressure to atmospheric pressure must be divided between several steam jet devices. The motive steam pressure and suction pressure are decisive for the number of stages.

The direct connection of several steam jet devices in series leads to high steam consumption because each downstream stage has to suck in and compress the motive steam of the previous one. Therefore, surface or mixing condensers are connected between the individual stages, in which the steam is condensed as much as possible.

In high vacuum, where the saturated steam temperatures are close to the cooling water temperature or below, the interposition of capacitors is no longer possible. Here the steam jet devices must be connected directly one behind the other. In the fine vacuum it is also necessary to heat the blasting devices.

The steam jet vacuum pumps are individually designed, process-optimized and constructed for the respective application. Depending on the application, different designs can be implemented, for example in combination with a water ring pump.

The planning and production of the steam jet vacuum systems is usually carried out according to the customer`s specifications with regard to the use of materials, choice of fittings, MSR technology, surface treatment and system redundancy. Thanks to know-how that has grown over decades, we are also partners and are happy to advise on system design.

If necessary, the process engineering dimensioning is carried out according to the VGB or HEI guidelines. The mechanical design and construction are carried out in accordance with PED 2014/68 EU, AD 2000, EN 13445, ASME or GOST.

All processes associated with production are monitored by our quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
