AMS - Soil Core Sampling Mini Kits
AMS soil core sampling mini kits provide all the components needed to auger up to 12` and then collect a virtually undisturbed soil core sample in a liner. Includes: Regular auger, four 3` extensions, cross handle, soil core sampler, slide hammer, 2 plastic end caps, liner, 2 wrenches, universal slip wrench and poly-canvas case.
AMS Soil augers are designed to rapidly remove soils of all types, using the specially designed bits on the Regular, Mud, and Sand models. The augers are all stainless steel construction with bits heat treated before sharpening. The split core sampler features a heat threaded 400 series coring tip threaded to a 300 series split body and threaded end cap. The sampler may be used with or without a retaining cylinder. All attachment couplings are 5/8 inch NC threaded.
For your convenience, all the items necessary for accessing a sampling point and then taking a sample are included. AMS soil buckets are the most efficient available in terms of effort required and speed. The AMS Split Core Sampler allows immediate core examination or a sample may be collected with a retaining cylinder. All of the sampling equipment, except for the Slide Hammer, and cross handle may be acide bathed.
Use Flouropolymer tape or plumbers wick on 5/8 inch male threads used with Slide Hammer to help threads stay tight. Keep all fittings and samplers clean, dry and free of dirt or mud. You can clean tooling with soapy water. Always dry to prevent rusting. Use a wire brush on male threads. Use vegetable oil on tools to prevent fittings locking up and rusting. When using augers, use rubber O-rings on male 5/8 inch thread to help take apart.

Crescent wrenches are made from chrome plated forged steel. The cleaning brush is made with stainless steel bristles, and twisted wire handle. The AMS Deluxe Case is molded from glass reinforced plastic with a lid gasket, lockable hasps and wheels.
Use of the auger for accessing the sampling point at depths of up to about 12 feet (3.6 m) with the supplied extensions and AMS slide hammer. The sample may be collected within a removable retaining cylinder (liner). Plastic end caps are included.
