Apex - Floodguard Monocoque Door
These may be referred to as composite doors except that they are very different. Standard composite doors are formed of foam sandwiched between a skin of GRP, perhaps with a thin timber element for strength. This limits the strength of the door cuasing a risk of warping or delamination. In contrast our Floodguard Monocoque Door slabs use a GRP monocoque structure for strength and do not rely upon foam.
The outer frame is our standard Rehau uPVC profile which is available in matching or contrasting standard colours or optional colours.
The doorset as a system works the same as our uPVC door using tried and tested locking and sealing technology including special Apex flood gaskets and flood lock set.
The best thing about the doors beside incredible performance, is the looks. A range of styles have been replicated in the preparation of the moulds, and the woodgrain finish will fool many an observer into thinking it is wood.
- Beautiful woodgrain finish
- GRP monocoque structure
- Same sealing components and outstanding performance as uPVC Door
- 24/7 flood protection
- Single and double doors
- Inward and outward opening
- White or a range of standard foil colours
- Tested to PAS1188-1:2014
What makes these doors flood resistant?
Whilst largely constructed from off-the-shelf components, these doors are highly engineered with the addition of flood gaskets and adapted flood locks to create sealing compression?
What flood protection height can be offered?
The doors are designed and tested to 600mm protection height for inward-opening and double doors, and 900mm for outward-opening single doors. Performance in the real floods has exceeded this.
What length of warranty is available?
2 years. This can usually be extended with a maintenance contract.
How long are the doors designed to work for?
We use only the best components such as Dr. Hahn hinges, solid panels and top spec steel reinforcement. This means our doors are designed to provide flood protection for a minimum of 20-30 years.
