ApexFloodguard Screw-in Barrier

SHARE

The Floodguard Screw-in Barrier benefits from an outwardly-curved, lightweight single panel which replicates the arch-dam principle, transmitting the loadings toward the edges and enhancing the seal. However it does not require a permanent back-frame fitted to the building. In this case, the only fixture is a small number of threaded sleeves along the sealing line which can be neatly capped off for minimal aesthetic disruption.

In standard sizes of up to 3m width, the barrier seals can be configured for level threshold doors with the base gasket compressed across the entire sealing line. or it can be configured for windows and doors with thresholds.

Deploying the barrier is simple and fast with a series of security screws or with the optional star-handled screws if a tooless deployment is required.

  • Standard width of up to 3m
  • Standard protection height of up to 0.9m
  • Bespoke sizes available
  • Tested to PAS1188-1:2014 and BS851188-1:2019
  • Fabricated in GRP for strength and longevity

Why should I consider a single panel rather than a sectional barrier?
Our single panel barriers have just a single sealing line. Once all of the gasket is compressed along the sealing line you can have very high confidence that the barrier has been correctly deployed and should not leak.

A large single panel however will require additional storage compared with a sectional barrier. it may also require 2-people to deploy with ease.

Are bespoke sizes available?
Yes. We can make these in virtually any practicable size however as these will be bespoke (and not use standard moulds) then there may be additional cost.

What if our walls or other sealing surfaces are uneven or not all in line?
A survey should identify the extent to which this may be an issue but generally our thick GRP gasket will accommodate imperfect sealing surfaces. In some cases, a new concrete base or hardwood posts may be required for efficient sealing.

How much do the barriers weigh?
All standard barriers are designed to be within the limits of lifting by a single person however larger panels may benefit from a 2-person lift because of their size and shape.
