API - Model SC -Hydroulic Monostage Trash Rack Cleaner
The API® SC Trash Rack Cleaner is a fully automated hydroulic rake of the mono-arm or double-arm type, with single-stage extensible units. It is used to remove the material captured by the grills in intake facilities, always allowing the maximum flow of water to the pumps, turbines or plant. The cleaning action is carried out by the rake, which opens and moves to the lowest point of the grill, then rises back up against it, intercepting and removing the solids retained up to the highest discharge point, where Conveyor Belts are ready to operate continuously and in coordination with the Trash Rack Cleaner. Frame, Rake and Extensible Unit are made of steel with hot-dip galvanisation (ISO 1461) for long-lasting outdoor operation. Switchgear and hydraulic central unit are installed, protected and inside the machine.
A Trash Rake, also called Trash Rack Cleaner or Trash Rack Cleaning Machine, is an automatic device that removes the material accumulated on a water intake Trash Rack. It is an essential device in hydropower plant intake facilities or in Irrigation and Drainage pumping stations. The API® Trash Rack Cleaner is driven by hydraulic cylinders which move the rake mounted on single-stage or telescopic sliding arms. The rake, which is initially moved out the Trash Rack and lowered into the water to the bottom of that, is later returned to the Rack and lifted to run along it.
The material intercepted by the Trash Rack Cleaner is lifted up to the head of the Rack and discharged into a duct or onto an API® Conveyor Belt usually supplied with the Trash Rack Cleaner. These debris evacuation systems transport the trash rack cleaner waste into recovery tanks or containers for easy storage and transport.
