Aquafix - Model Lar-V-Zyme -Midge Fly Complete Biolarvicide
KILL MIDGES DEAD. AQUABACxt is an EPA registered biolarvicide for controlling red worms and midge flies in wastewater treatment systems. Lar-V-Zyme breaks down red worm cocoons and the organic matter surrounding them, exposing more of the larvae to AQUABACxt for increased efficacy.
- Targets Red Worm Infestations:Midge Fly Complete addresses red worm infestations, which can cause disappearing MLSS, stringy or clumpy return activated sludge, and attract nuisance flies.
- Stops Midge Fly Lifecycle:Breaks the life cycle of midge flies, mosquito larvae, and black flies from the start.
Midge Fly Complete is a powerful biological solution developed to eliminate midge flies, redworms, bloodworms, and other midges that cause operational challenges in wastewater treatment facilities. This two-part system combines AQUABACxt, a U.S. EPA-registered Bti larvicide containing Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti), with Lar-V-Zyme, an enzyme-based formula that breaks down redworm cocoons and organic debris. Together, they deliver superior results by exposing hidden larvae and stopping infestations at their source.
Applying Midge Fly Complete is easy and highly effective. AQUABACxt uses Bti endotoxins to selectively target the stomach lining of midge fly and redworm larvae, causing them to starve and die without harming humans, aquatic life, or beneficial microorganisms. At the same time, Lar-V-Zyme dissolves protective cocoons made from fats, oils, greases (FOG), fibers, and papers—ensuring that more larvae are vulnerable to treatment. This dual-action method is ideal for controlling persistent redworm infestations in activated sludge systems, clarifiers, and return lines.
Wastewater operators trust Midge Fly Complete for reliable wastewater treatment fly control, helping to prevent common problems such as disappearing MLSS, clumpy or stringy sludge, and the attraction of nuisance flies. Regular applications—especially during early spring and late fall—support plant stability, minimize maintenance needs, and reduce reliance on harsh chemical treatments. This biological approach promotes a cleaner, more efficient wastewater environment.
Quick Highlights- What it is: A dual-product system featuring AQUABACxt (Bti-based biolarvicide) and Lar-V-Zyme (cocoon-degrading enzyme).
- How it is used: Applied directly where larval activity is observed; follow specific dosing based on plant flow rate.
- Why it is helpful: Breaks the lifecycle of harmful insects biologically, offers effective redworm infestation control, and supports ongoing wastewater treatment fly control.
