AW - Model RO 150 - 5000 -Reverse Osmosis Plants
A reverse osmosis plant is used to produce demineralized water up to a conductivity of < 20 – 30 µS/cm without the use of chemical agents. This procedure works by separating two homogeneous solutions with a membrane. Osmotic pressure drives part of the water substances through the membrane, while the rest is held back. When the pressure necessary to reverse the water flow compared to the working pressure is negligible, it is called reverse osmosis. This is usually the case when low molecular substances like salts or caustic solutions are separated, since these create enormous osmotic pressures even in relatively low concentrations.

Function
Water is introduced into the plant through a prefilter under normal pressure. The pressure is then increased by a high-pressure pump. Over- and under-pressure sensors monitor the plant. Water is pressed through one or several membranes, the resulting pure water is carried into a storage tank. The plant can be automated with a level controller.
The concentrate can be directly carried to the waste water discharge, part of it is used for recirculation. With the installed controllers, this plant works fully automatic, quality is controlled by a conductivity meter and a rinsing function.
Metering and control are realized with a SIMATIC S7/C7 series controller.
Installation
The plant is delivered in compact form, mounted on a steel rack with height-adjustable feet and ready for connection. On site, the lead connections (city water, pressured air), connection for pure water, discharge connection and electrical connection have to be created.
