Bombas - Model Bare Shaft Flexible Impeller Pumps -Bare Shaft Flexible Impeller Pumps
Self-priming rotary pumps with flexible impeller. The RF-S models come with two bearings and a Roten 7K type mechanical seal. Production materials: Stainless steel AAISI-316, cast iron GG-20, cast bronze RG10. The impellers are made from neoprene or nitrile depending on the liquid to be pumped. They are used to move viscous liquids, which cannot be handled by centrifugal pumps, and liquids with a high abrasion content that require hardened contact surfaces for the rotating elements.
The flexion of the impeller’s vanes is partly controlled by an eccentric cam within the body of the pump, between the inlet and outlet holes, as well as by the thickness, material and configuration of the paddles.
The increase in volume between two adjacent paddles in the inlet orifice a gap is produced, which causes the liquid to enter this larger space.
The volumetric reduction in the outlet orifice, in turn, forces the liquid to be pushed out into the discharge pipe.
The flexible impeller pumps are used to move viscous liquids, which cannot be handled by centrifugal pumps, and liquids with a high abrasion content that require hardened contact surfaces for the rotating elements. They therefore handle a lot of industrial liquids, from the lightly corrosive to the highly acidic or alkaline, as well as corrosives that contain solids in suspension, liquids with the viscosity of water and those so viscous that they need the recipient to vibrate in order to make them flow.
