The company was founded as "Herrmann Dittes yellow Foundry" in Werdau in 1903. Valves and components made out of bronze, brass and bronze have been produced since then. In addition to the repair of steam engines, these parts were used in breweries, dairies as well as in the textile industry.

In 1979 Wolfgang Mehner purchased the company from the son of the founder. He profiled the company to a midsize sales and service company.

Matthias and Ralf Baraniak bought the company in 1998 and consequently founded Wolfgang Mehner GmbH. A branch in Dresden was opened two years later.

In 2003 the branches in Eisenach and Eisleben were opened. Driven by the market success of the company and its highly motivated employees, we were able to move into the company´s newly constructed building in Werdau in October 2005. Thus, conditions were created which should further on fulfill the requirements of the market and our customers in a sustainable and quality- and efficiency-orientated way.

The investment and the relocation of the branch Dresden to new and larger premises in the industrial area were completed at the beginning of the year 2009. Mid-2009, some months later, the sales office Trabitz near Kemnath i.d. Opf. joined the other branches.

A new warehouse on the main site Werdau was taken into operation in 2010. Furthermore, a sales office was opened in Berlin in May 2012. The pursued path from repair service to general service and wholesale to the system partner for installation engineering in the industrial environment is consistently continued and developed together with the company´s customers and employees.
