Seemingly a lot of boat operators being impacted heavily by the new EPA enforcement of the Clean Water Act, thought that simply running gray water out thru their MSD chlorination chamber was going to be enough treatment, when in fact they are going to have to actively manage this gray water—not just disinfect it by simply chlorinating it.

The BilgeVAP eliminates this gray water—as well as all the treated black water coming off of the MSD. If you have no water—you have nothing to manage.

With under floor or immersed heating, the "No Discharge Zone" BilgeVAP allows a 98-99% reduction of your bilge water. When the water portion has been evaporated, just the oil portion and solids remain—which can be easily drained off through the 2" drain port. The flat or funneled floor is sloped to the drain and the removeable lid makes access easy. If you watch what you feed it (oily or dirty water), you can run several batches (lots) before you need bother to clean out the oil.

No comparison—and here’s WHY NOT:

Marine oil/water separators are flow thru systems capable of removing free unemulsified oils from water. Our BRUTE marine oil water separators are usually used for dealing with larger amounts of bilge water—BUT cannot do anything for or to gray water or treated black water.

Some vessels are mandated to have USCG/ABS/BV certified marine oil water separators such as our BRUTE systems which are certified to meet IMO/MEPC 107(49) requirements. While these vessels are required to have these certified marine oil water separators—if they have no oily water to process (think BilgeVAP) they do not have to use the separators, they must merely have the operable separators in place and ready to use.
