Bioventing Systems
Low cost, lightweight systems for bioventing applications. Essentially an SVE systems, Cornelsen has developed some very low cost, lightweight systems for bioventing applications. These systems are generally not ATEX certified and are deployed for biopiles/windrows.
- Lightweight and low cost
- Frequently available “off the shelf”
- Robust and reliable design
A typical bioventing system will be connected to a large header pipe running the length of a biopile from which individual slotted spurs project out beneath the biopile at intervals specified by the Client.
A vacuum is applied to the inlet separator by the SVE blower(s) and thus vapour is drawn from the biopile through the separator and the blower and discharged through a vapour treatment plant such as Activated Carbon or Biofilter. A dilution valve is fitted to facilitate adjustment of the concentration mix passing through the bioventing system. Usually this dilution valve will be manual.
Cornelsen can build a system to match virtually any required design. A typical off-the shelf system available for rapid mobilisation and hire is summarised below:
- 8’ Galvanised Lightweihgt Container with electric light and ventilation
- Max. Air Flow: 300 to 500m3/hr
- Max. Vacuum: -250mbar gauge (750mbar abs.)
- 200 litre moisture and particulate separator
- Additional transfer pump for handling rainwater passing through the biopile for discharge to a water treatment plan.
- Simple relay logic control panel.
