Coletanche - Bituminous Based Waterproof Geomembrane
Coletanche is the only bituminous geomembrane available with a 5 linear meter width. The COLETANCHE geomembrane is composed of an elastomeric or blown bituminous binder and a framework of non-woven polyester textile which guarantees long term mechanical and chemical resistance. A wide range of products ensure that all civil engineering needs can be met including resistance to different chemicals and sources of pollution etc.
A waterproof bituminous geomembrane
- It has an outstandingly long-lasting resistance whether underground or in open-air.
- It is compatible with asphalt, tarmac, concrete and may be easily used in conjunction with these materials.
- It is used for the storage of drinking water (irrigation, fish-farming...)
- It is naturally impermeable to gas (including radon) and remarkably resistant to chemical and biological agents.
- It has a high friction angle allowing good grip of covering soil.
- Its elasticity and viscosity ensure optimal adaptability to changes in the structure of the ground ie : seismic movements , differential settlements...
It is a multi - purpose product
- It can be used all over the world under all climates even at very low temperatures
- Its surface mass prevents wind uplift
- It can be used and sealed under water (waterproofing of canals)
- The number of weldings is reduced thanks to large 5 meter rolls
It has high mechanical performances
- It is highly resistant to tearing and puncturing and to hydrostatic pressure (this means that it can be directly laid on natural substrates or standard embankments) and may be safely covered by large stones without being damaged.
- It has remarkable dimensional stability and is not affected by changes in temperature
- The membrane can stretch without loss of impermeability
The COLETANCHE® membrane is composed of five layers of different products which make it unique :
- A highly resistant anti-root film able to withstand puncturing by vegetation or rough substrates
- Glass fleece which ensures dimensional stability
- A non-woven geotextile reinforced structure which is highly resistant to tearing, and puncturing
- A elastomeric bitumen binder ensures that the geotextile is waterproof and resistant to ageing
- A coating of sand ensures that workers can move on the surface in all weather conditions in order to carry out maintenance work. It also provides a rough surface which allows coverage of the membrane by soil.
A large range of products provides a suitable answer to all types of applications whatever the constraints . They are adapted to the different types of substrates and coatings found on sites as well as to difficult climatic conditions :
The ES range is made with highly elastic elastomeric bitumen which is particularly suited to low temperatures , very resistant to ultra violet rays and durable in exposed conditions.
The two ranges are available in 4 different thicknesses (from 3.5 to 5.6 mm) of increasing resistance which provide solutions to whatever mechanical constraint the product will be submitted to.
The COLETANCHE® geomembranes are manufactured in our ISO 9001 and 14001 accredited factory in Courchelettes (France- 59)
