BM&M - High-Speed Gyratory Screening
High-speed gyratory screening equipment at BM&M Screening Solutions uses a patented design to deliver higher G-loads and greater screening efficiency than vibratory or conventional gyratory screening systems. The horizontal, circular motion of our screeners maintains more direct contact with the material on the screen, providing better sizing and screening performance. Our screeners are useful for materials like wood, pulp, paper, grain, nuts, corn, pet food, animal feed, powders, and more.
The key to our enhanced industrial screening performance is our patented weight drive technology. BM&M’s drives use a stationary shaft and a high-speed eccentric weight that rotates on a bearing assembly to generate an eccentric gyratory motion. Our screening equipment is engineered to, essentially, “rotate around itself”, based on the center of gravity of the machine. This enables our systems to dissipate more energy for more efficient and effective performance.
Competitors’ gyratory screening machines use a more traditional crankshaft design that is inherently limited in the amount of energy it can dissipate and that often fails at high-speeds or under high load. Thanks to our unique design, our gyratory screening equipment is capable of higher speeds and larger strokes (diameter of gyratory movement) that combine to create a higher G-load. A high G-load is critical to the effective screening of any material.
Additionally, the design of other manufacturers’ gyratory screeners generally result in gyratory motion at only one end of the screen—the infeed end usually remains mostly stationary. Our drive units are positioned at the absolute center of the machine, and so create the same screening motion and efficiency over the entire screen surface.
Our high-speed gyratory screening equipment is easily adjustable in the field, allowing you to manage the stroke and the speed for optimum performance, no matter how difficult or variable the application. Our screening equipment can operate at speeds up to 330 RPM, versus a maximum of 180 RPM for most other manufacturers’ machines. Stroke can be adjusted to as much as 2” in diameter.
With more consistent movement and greater energy dissipation comes greater deblinding efficiency. That is, the enhanced performance of our gyratory screening machines inherently keeps their screens cleaner, even when working with challenging materials like meat/bone meal. The energy and uniformity of the gyratory movement prevents material from sticking to the screen or otherwise collecting or clumping, which could negatively affect performance.
For even better deblinding efficiency, all BM&M screens are equipped with “ball decks” that assist in keeping the screen clean. The motion of the screen propels an array of captive balls to constantly strike the underside of the screen element, which dislodges wedged-in particles or near-size plugs. Standard ball deck frames are manufactured from steel; stainless steel, aluminum, or hardwood frames are available upon request.
