Filmar -Â Bongo Plankton Net
The main purpose of the Double Plankton Net (Bongo Style) is to perform a double sampling of a specific water stratum while reducing the turbulences linked to the use of a simple ring.
Market: Aquatic Scientific Research
Product type: Plankton Net
Applications: Horizontal Water Sampling, Vertical Water Sampling, Salt Water Sampling
Lead time: Upon Order
- The Bongo net consists of two identical nets that can be towed vertically or diagonally from a given depth to the surface.
- It has the advantage of being able to make a double sampling of the same water column, in order to either; freeze a sample for the future or to make a sampling of the same water column with two different filtration precision.
- The net must be used with a 22Kg
V-Fin depressorto create a negative pressure on the net.
- It is composed of a cylindrical part from the opening of the net followed by a conical part to the tail.
- The nets are each clamped to one of the two rings on the double
aluminumframe. The frame is provided with a single towing point, to reduce the disturbances caused by the flanges.
- A filtering
cod-endis installed at the end of each nets.
- The standard opening diameter is 60cm for each ring. Other sizes are available on request.
- The length of each net is generally 300cm. Custom-made nets can also be manufactured.
- Material: Precision Filtration
NitexMesh
- Length: 3.00 m
- Width: 60.00 cm
- Height: 60.00 cm
Manufacture details: The net is made of ultra-strong and extremely precise Nitex filtration mesh. We have over 60 options of filtration mesh sizes varying from 1 to 5000 microns.
The net mouth and tail are reinforced with non-treated Cordura fabric 1000 Deniers on which grommets are added (net mouth) and a clamping device (net tail) to hold on to the cod-end. Every seam is reinforced with 3/4in webbing to guarantee an ultra-strong net
Ideal for capturing phytoplankton (smaller than 80 microns), zooplankton (60 to 600 microns) and other micro-organisms (500 to 5000 microns)
For nets with a diameter larger than 100cm, extra reinforced webbing is added on the length of the net to maximize i's structural integrity.
It is possible to add a chocking band on the net which is formed by passing a rope through small stainless steel rings sewn within the net, thus allowing the user to close and open the net during operation
