SHARE
Bottom loading furnaces (BLF) are commonly used for large, heavy samples that require temperature uniformity throughout the heating process. Also known as elevator furnaces, bottom load furnaces are available in benchtop and production sizes and come in two parts. The main body of the furnace remains stationary and the load platform, or kiln car, is a piece that is raised into position.

The key benefits of BLF or elevator furnaces are that they can operate at high temperatures – up to 1800 degrees Celsius, can be manufactured in a range of sizes and offer the most uniform temperature of any furnace due to heating on all four sides of the chamber. A key summary of the benefits include:

  • Easy to load and unload
  • Fast cooling
  • High-quality products
  • Minimal heat loss
  • Uniform temperature

Deltech Furnaces provides furnaces with cubic, octagonal and square bottom loading workspaces that are fitted with pneumatic or electric lift systems for easy loading to suit your applications. Programmable operation of the lift system is optional. To support convection cooling without needing fans, we use impact-resistant fiberboard for the furnace’s exterior. The fiberboard helps to keep the outside of the furnace cool, which in turn enhances operator safety.

We offer “fast fire” options should your process require accelerated ramp rates. Available for both lab scale and production size bottom load furnaces, choose this option to increase ramp rates to as high as 1000 degrees celsius per hour.
