The Disc Rotor is the most popular of all rotor types. Made from high strength, abrasion resistant material, it is the simplest rotor to operate and requires the least amount of maintenance. Performance advantages include more consistent material feed and motor loading while achieving the benefits of full box shredding. A Disc Rotor is a good choice for a mixed variety of scrap metals.
The Barrel Rotor provides the same performance benefits as a Disc Rotor plus it uses caps to enclose and protect the discs from wear, which translates into a longer service life for the core rotor. It provides the highest inertia of all rotor designs since the major mass of the rotor is at the perimeter. The Barrel Rotor is a good choice for light scrap such as cars and white goods.
Designed for increased life expectancy, the Spider Rotor features full helmet caps for all spiders and fully capped end discs to provide increased protection from impact and abrasion. A Spider Rotor can be configured with either a swing through or layback hammer design. The layback style offers two pin positions to increase life expectancy of both hammers and bottom grates. Customers routinely exceed 1.5 million shredded ferrous tons using our Spider Rotors.
