Commonly used brass casting methods

The different brass grades that are used in brass castings include Yellow and Red Brass and Silicon Brass. Brass castings can be made using various techniques. There are generally three brass casting methods. They have been proven to be suitable for brass casting.

1. Lost-wax Investment casting
2. Die casting
3. Sand casting

Our Brass Casting Process

What exactly is the brass casting process? Our brass casting process involves three primary steps:

Mold-making

We start by making match plates for each component. The sand is then pressed around the match plate to create new halves of a mold. A pattern is a full-size prototype of the part being manufactured. For more detailed aspects of the component, patterns are used to create cavities inside the mold. Next, we fasten the mold together in preparation for pouring.
Pouring

Once we’ve created an accurate sand mold, we heat brass to an ideal casting temperature inside a furnace. The molten brass then flows into the mold gradually. After the pouring process, we leave the filled molds to cool and solidify.
Removal

Finally, we remove the finished, cooled metal castings by breaking open the molds. Depending on the type of component being made, we also smooth the surface of the brass piece and remove extra metal if necessary.

The manufacturing cost is low. The process flexibility is large. Complex shapes and large castings can be obtained. Occupies a large proportion in mechanical manufacturing, Such as machine tools accounting for 60-80%, automobiles accounting for 25%. And tractors account for 50-60%.
