Hydraulically driven rear tractor mounted capstan winch giving smooth, constant line pull/speed. The MODEL 2NBH WINCH is a hydraulically driven rear tractor mounted capstan winch giving smooth, constant line pull/speed, winching with a rope storage drum system mounted on the tractor loader arms.

The winch unit is fitted with a two speed transmission gearbox which coupled with a two speed variable dis- placement axial piston motor gives the operator four speed winch operation. A powerful, totally enclosed band brake is fitted to the winch and is hydraulic cylinder operated from within the tractor cab.

A 300mm diameter capstan bollard is fitted capable of holding 7 coils of 24mm diameter rope. The capstan is driven via a heavy duty crownwheel and pinion final drive.

A heavy duty Drop Leg Pulley Boom is fitted with a top pulley for smooth transfer of the rope from in the trench to the capstan bollard. The top pulley is mounted via a special Load Sensing pin that is connected to an in cab Load Monitor that is fitted with a digital read out and printer to enable the operator to record the loads that are being pulled.

The tractor is fitted with a crankshaft driven tandem gear pump to deliver the hydraulic oil flows and pressures that are required to operate the winch and storage drum. The hydraulic circuit is fitted with a large capacity oil reservoir and radiator to reduce oil heating during long pulls. The hydraulic controls are fully proportional and the winch and reelwinder controls are fully synchronised for smooth, controlled rope spooling.

An hydraulic dump valve is fitted in the circuit to allow the hydraulic oil to by-pass the Spooling Drum circuit when the winch is not being used to avoid oil heating.

An emergency Stop Button is fitted so that winching can immediately be stopped should a problem arise.
